[HELP]

- To log in to data analysis computers (listed under [SOFTWARE]) when you are at QUT, simply click the computer name below to download and open .RDP file, then use 'carfp' password if prompted for a password (do NOT change the username that was pre-set in .RDP file). To find out what current password is, contact Pawel.

- To log in to data analysis computers (listed under [SOFTWARE]) when you are outside QUT, you need to VPN to QUT network. To achieve this, download Cisco AnyConnect Client here, install it on your computer, launch it, type 'sas.qut.edu.au' in Cisco window, press connect and then type in your QUT credentials (QUT ID and QUT password) when prompted for it. Once connected to QUT network, follow the instructions for connecting from within QUT (above).

- If you are using MAC, you are not completely lost. Simply download Microsoft Remote Desktop software from the App Store, then click on the data analysis computer of your choice (listed under [SOFTWARE]) to download an .RDP file which your MAC computer will likely download as .txt file. Access that file from the Downloads folder on your MAC computer and remove .txt extension ensuring the file ends in .RDP extension. Then drag the .RDP file into the remote desktop. This should create a virtual desktop image. Hover the mouse pointer over the desktop image and select the pencil icon. Open the "User account" drop down menu and change to "ask when required". Keep everything else the same. Click "Save" and then double click on the virtual desktop image. Add carfp (user) and password when prompted. When prompted about certificate click "Continue". To make things look better when the desktop is open, select "Window" from the toolbar and select "Fit to window".

[FILES GOING OFF-LINE]

If you notice an 'X' symbol on an icon of any of your files stored on network drive (IHBI or PROTEO) this means that these files went off-line.
To bring them back on-line, log a bulk file recall request in HEAT system (search for "Bulk recall of Research Data Storage Service files")
or phone/email if itís urgent (Ext: 82773 | Email: ess-dec@qut.edu.au)

[MAPPING NETWORK DRIVES]

To map PROTEO and IHBI drives on your computer, submit HEAT request for READ only access to:
U:\Research\Acquisitions\ife\carf_proteo
U:\Research\Acquisitions\ife\carf_proteo2
and put Pawel as approver.
